Eluding a Police Officer – M

Narrative:

This one’s weird.

According to court records, a Sheriff’s deputy saw Hendricks driving on the wrong side of 12th Avenue near Ruth Lane at about 4:00 AM August 25th.  The deputy tried to pull Hendricks over, but he just kept driving.  Police had to deploy two sets of spike strips and execute a pit maneuver to bring him to a stop.

Once stopped, Hendricks allegedly sat in his car with what police described as an “apathetic” demeanor, for 25 minutes.  He ignored all commands to exit the vehicle, and seemingly looking past them like he was waiting in traffic.

Police eventually pulled him from the vehicle and called an ambulance to check him out.

Hendricks told officers he recently took some of his prescription medication, including a sleep aid.
