One Woman Dead In Overnight Crash on Can-Ada Road

ISP Press Release:

Idaho State Police is investigating a two-vehicle fatality crash that occurred December 31, 2023 at 11:31 p.m. at the intersection of US Highway 20-26 and Can-Ada Road on the county line of Ada and Canyon County.

A 78-year-old woman was driving a 2003 Dodge Stratus northbound on Can-Ada Road. A 36-year-old female, was driving eastbound on US Highway 20-26 in a 2012 Chevy Traverse. The vehicles made contact in the intersection and came to rest blocking both lanes of travel.

The driver of the Dodge, was wearing her seat-belt. She succumbed to her injuries at the scene of the crash.

The driver of the Chevy was transported by private vehicle to a local hospital. She was not wearing a seat-belt.

The lanes were blocked for just over three hours to allow emergency responders to assist those involved.

This remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.

We heard this come through live last night on the scanner. It sounded like this may have been an accident that triggered an underlying medical condition.
