One Dead in Overnight House Fire in Nampa

One person is dead following a house fire in Nampa this morning.
According to a statement from the Nampa Fire Department, crews responded to a fully involved structure fire at about 3:00a overnight.   Crews located a victim in the residence during search operations.  The victim was removed from the home, but had already passed away.
No other occupants were located.
The fire cause is under investigation.
Nampa Fire (and probably all fire agencies this time of year) are reminding area residents to service all heating sources as we head into the winter months, and make sure your home has working smoke detectors.

The statement from Nampa Fire didn’t include a location, but there was a Pulse Point Mutual Aid call at an address near the corner of Second and Amity, and the photo they included looks like it could match the arial view from Google.

Future questions that need to be answered:

Did the victim die of the fire, or prior to the fire?  The coroner should be able to determine this pretty easily.  If there’s soot in the lungs, the victim likely died in the fire.  If not, they likely died prior.
