Around 7:15 this evening Boise Police responded to a report of a possible hit and run on State St west of N. Roe St. Responding officers located one deceased female victim. Officers secured the scene and the eastbound lanes of State Street were closed for the investigation. Detectives from the Boise Police Violent Crime Unit responded to the scene along with a crash reconstruction team from the Idaho State Police. At this time the investigation is ongoing and officers are working to locate the suspect and the vehicle involved.

More information will be released as the investigation continues. The Ada County Coroner will identify the victim pending notification of next of kin.
