The Ada County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim in yesterday’s Vehicle V Pedestrian accident at the intersection of State and Roe as 56-year-old Erma Sookiyak of Anchorage, Alaska.
According to a media release from the Coroner’s Office, Sookiyak died of traumatic blunt force injuries sustained after being struck by a still-unidentified vehicle.
The suspect vehicle is believed to be silver or grey and likely has noticeable damage to the front end, windshield, and hood.

We will post the scanner traffic from this incident later tonight. From the scanner, it sounded like Sookiyak was killed instantly, with EMT’s calling “10-100” as soon as they arrived on scene. 10-100 is code for injuries obviously incompatible with life.
